Product overview
India is a leading exporter of mango pulp, processed during the April-July season and sold year-round. Trade press puts mango pulp exports at about US$ 80 million in CY2025 (tier 5, not verified). Processing is concentrated in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu) and Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh) for Totapuri, and in Maharashtra and Gujarat for Alphonso and Kesar.
Totapuri pulp is tangy, fibrous-free and used in beverages and dairy; Alphonso and Kesar pulps are sweet and aromatic, used for lassi, desserts and premium drinks. Products are supplied as aseptic pulp or concentrate in 215 kg drums (bag-in-drum), or as canned pulp in A10 and 850 g tins for retail and food service.
Buyers in the Middle East, Europe and North America specify Brix, acidity, pH, colour, and microbiological stability; canned low-acid/acidified foods for the USA need FDA process filing.
HS note: Mango pulp is shipped under 2008 99 (India has specific 8-digit lines); mango juice and nectar fall under 2009.

Market requirements by region
European Union
Netherlands and Germany buy aseptic pulp for juice blending; EU contaminant and pesticide MRLs apply.
United States & Canada
USA: the packing facility needs FDA Food Facility Registration, every shipment needs FDA Prior Notice, and the US importer must run FSVP supplier verification. US tariff treatment of Indian goods changed several times in 2025-26 (reciprocal tariffs, product exemptions, a Feb-2026 India-US framework and later court rulings) - verify the current duty for the HTS line before quoting landed cost. Canned mango pulp is an acidified/low-acid canned food under FDA rules - the processor needs FCE registration and SID process filing.
United Kingdom
UK: the India-UK CETA entered into force on 15 July 2026 (reported) - claim preference with proof of origin; higher-risk food needs IPAFFS pre-notification. Canned Alphonso and Kesar pulp is a staple in UK diaspora retail.
Gulf (GCC)
Saudi Arabia: the importer registers the establishment and each product on SFDA's Ghad platform; FASAH clearance needs certificate of origin, invoice showing batch and expiry, health/phytosanitary certificate as applicable; Arabic labelling per SFDA.FD/GSO 9. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait are major pulp buyers for juices and dairy; Arabic labelling for retail cans.
