India is a large producer of PP woven sacks for its own grain, sugar, cement and fertiliser industries, and exports surplus capacity to Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Exports are reported together with FIBCs (PLEXCONCIL, about US$1.57 bn for the group in FY2024-25).
Products range from plain white sacks to multi-colour BOPP-laminated bags for retail rice, feed and pet food, block-bottom valve bags for cement, and leno mesh bags for onions and potatoes.

Buyers of food packs ask for food-contact declarations under Reg. (EU) 10/2011. India lost EU GSP preferences for 2026-2028 (Implementing Reg. (EU) 2025/1909), so MFN duty applies; the EU-India FTA concluded on 27 Jan 2026 is not yet in force.
United States & Canada
Pet food and feed bags compete with domestic and Vietnamese supply. US duty on Indian goods as of 22 Oct 2026 (per our compliance research, secondary legal analysis): MFN rate plus a 10% Section 301 tariff in force since 24 Jul 2026; Section 232 goods (steel, aluminium, copper, autos/parts) pay the 232 rate instead.
