Product overview
India is one of the largest FIBC exporters, with plants concentrated in Gujarat and Maharashtra and others in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. PLEXCONCIL reported about US$1.57 bn for FIBC, woven sacks, woven fabrics and tarpaulin in FY2024-25.
FIBCs are woven polypropylene bags holding 500-2,000 kg of powder or granules: chemicals, minerals, food ingredients, seeds, resins. Buyers specify safe working load and safety factor, construction (U-panel, circular, 4-panel, baffle), electrostatic type (A, B, C, D), filling and discharge spouts, liners and lifting loops.
Food and pharma buyers need BRCGS- or FSSC-certified clean-room production. Hazardous goods need UN-certified FIBCs.

Market requirements by region
European Union
Large chemical and food bulk-handling market; Type C/D bags must meet IEC 61340-4-4. India lost EU GSP preferences for 2026-2028 (Implementing Reg. (EU) 2025/1909), so MFN duty applies; the EU-India FTA concluded on 27 Jan 2026 is not yet in force.
United States & Canada
The US is a major FIBC market; buyers often require FIBCA membership-style quality and food-grade audits. US duty on Indian goods as of 22 Oct 2026 (per our compliance research, secondary legal analysis): MFN rate plus a 10% Section 301 tariff in force since 24 Jul 2026; Section 232 goods (steel, aluminium, copper, autos/parts) pay the 232 rate instead. Re-verify before quoting landed cost.
Gulf (GCC)
Petrochemical resin producers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE buy FIBCs for polymer exports.
Australia & New Zealand
Mining and agriculture use; India-Australia ECTA (in force 29 Dec 2022) gives zero duty on most tariff lines with a preferential certificate of origin.

Which type do I need for flammable powders?
Type C (grounded, conductive) or Type D (static-dissipative), depending on your hazard assessment.
Can you make food-grade bags?
Yes, from BRCGS/FSSC-certified clean-room plants with metal detection and pest control.
Do you supply UN-certified bags?
Yes, for packing groups II/III, tested and marked.
How many bags fit in a container?
