Product overview
Several Indian clusters supply hospitality buyers: Moradabad for buffet ware and copper/brass serveware, Delhi and Jagadhri for stainless-steel hotelware, Khurja for ceramic and stoneware crockery, and Firozabad for glassware. A trading house can consolidate them into one shipment for a hotel opening or a distributor.
Typical items are chafing dishes, food warmers, hammered-copper serving bowls (handis), gastronorm pans, buffet risers and displays, cutlery (18/10, 18/0), stoneware plates and bowls, and table-top accessories.
Food-contact compliance matters, especially for copper (which must be lined with tin or stainless steel when in contact with food) and for ceramic glazes (lead and cadmium release).
HS note: Mixed product category: copper/brass serveware 7418; ceramic tableware 6911/6912; glassware 7013; cutlery 8211/8215; plastic 3924. Classify per item.

Market requirements by region
European Union
Food-contact materials must comply with Reg. (EC) 1935/2004; ceramic ware has Pb/Cd release limits under Directive 84/500/EEC (ASSUMPTION). India lost EU GSP preferences for 2026-2028 (Implementing Reg. (EU) 2025/1909), so MFN duty applies; the EU-India FTA concluded on 27 Jan 2026 is not yet in force.
United States & Canada
USA: steel, aluminium and copper articles and listed derivatives pay Section 232 tariffs (copper semis 50% since 1 Aug 2025; an April 2026 proclamation modified how the metal 232 tariffs apply) - check whether the HTS line is on the derivative list before quoting. Non-232 lines pay MFN + 10% Section 301 (as of Oct 2026).
Gulf (GCC)
Hotel and catering expansion in Saudi Arabia and the UAE; HoReCa distributors consolidate Indian supply. India-UAE CEPA (in force 1 May 2022) gives preferential duty against a CEPA certificate of origin.
Africa
Hotel projects in East and West Africa; Kenya PVoC applies to many consumer items.
